حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : ذَكَرَ لَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا ظَهَرَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ أَقَامَ بِالْعَرْصَةِ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ تَابَعَهُ مُعَاذٌ وَعَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
ہم سے محمد بن عبدالرحیم نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے روح بن عبادہ نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے سعید نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے قتادہ نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ ہم سے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو جب کسی قوم پر فتح حاصل ہوتی، تو میدان جنگ میں تین رات قیام فرماتے۔ روح بن عبادہ کے ساتھ اس حدیث کو معاذ اور عبدالاعلیٰ نے بھی روایت کیا۔ دونوں نے کہا ہم سے سعید نے بیان کیا انہوں نے قتادہ سے ‘ انہوں نے انس سے ‘ انہوں نے ابوطلحہ سے انہوں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے۔
Narrated Abu Talha: Whenever the Prophet conquered some people, he would stay in their town for three days.

Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud: I asked Allah's Apostle, O Allah's Apostle! What is the best deed? He replied, To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times. I asked, What is next in goodness? He replied, To be good and dutiful to your parents. I further asked, what is next in goodness? He replied, To participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause. I did not ask Allah's Apostle anymore and if I had asked him more, he would have told me more.

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward). He replied, I do not find such a deed. Then he added, Can you, while the Muslim fighter is in the battle-field, enter your mosque to perform prayers without cease and fast and never break your fast? The man said, But who can do that? Abu- Huraira added, The Mujahid (i.e. Muslim fighter) is rewarded even for the footsteps of his horse while it wanders bout (for grazing) tied in a long rope.

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: Somebody asked, O Allah's Apostle! Who is the best among the people? Allah's Apostle replied A believer who strives his utmost in Allah's Cause with his life and property. They asked, Who is next? He replied, A believer who stays in one of the mountain paths worshipping Allah and leaving the people secure from his mischief.
