حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيْنَ تَنْزِلُ غَدًا فِي حَجَّتِهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : وَهَلْ تَرَكَ لَنَا عَقِيلٌ مَنْزِلًا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : نَحْنُ نَازِلُونَ غَدًا بِخَيْفِ بَنِي كِنَانَةَ الْمُحَصَّبِ حَيْثُ قَاسَمَتْ قُرَيْشٌ عَلَى الْكُفْرِ ، وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ بَنِي كِنَانَةَ حَالَفَتْ قُرَيْشًا عَلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ أَنْ لَا يُبَايِعُوهُمْ وَلَا يُؤْوُوهُمْ ، قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ : وَالْخَيْفُ الْوَادِي .
ہم سے محمود بن غیلان نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا ہم کو عبدالرزاق نے خبر دی ‘ انہوں نے کہا ہم کو معمر نے خبر دی انہیں زہری نے ‘ انہیں علی بن حسین نے ‘ انہیں عمرو بن عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ نے اور ان سے اسامہ بن زید رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے حجۃ الوداع کے موقع پر عرض کیا ‘ یا رسول اللہ! کل آپ ( مکہ میں ) کہاں قیام فرمائیں گے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا! عقیل نے ہمارے لیے کوئی گھر چھوڑا ہی کب ہے۔ پھر فرمایا کہ کل ہمارا قیام حنیف بن کنانہ کے مقام محصب میں ہو گا ‘ جہاں پر قریش نے کفر پر قسم کھائی تھی۔ واقعہ یہ ہوا تھا کہ بنی کنانہ اور قریش نے ( یہیں پر ) بنی ہاشم کے خلاف اس بات کی قسمیں کھائی تھیں کہ ان سے خرید و فروخت کی جائے اور نہ انہیں اپنے گھروں میں آنے دیں۔ زہری نے کہا کہ خیف وادی کو کہتے ہیں۔
Narrated Usama bin Zaid: I asked the Prophet during his Hajj, O Allah's Apostle! Where will you stay tomorrow? He said, Has `Aqil left for us any house? He then added, Tomorrow we will stay at Khaif Bani Kinana, i.e. Al-Muhassab, where (the Pagans of) Quraish took an oath of Kufr (i.e. to be loyal to heathenism) in that Bani Kinana got allied with Quraish against Bani Hashim on the terms that they would not deal with the members of the is tribe or give them shelter. (Az-Zuhri said, Khaif means valley. ) (See Hadith No. 659, Vol. 2)

Hadith 2782
Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud: I asked Allah's Apostle, O Allah's Apostle! What is the best deed? He replied, To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times. I asked, What is next in goodness? He replied, To be good and dutiful to your parents. I further asked, what is next in goodness? He replied, To participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause. I did not ask Allah's Apostle anymore and if I had asked him more, he would have told me more.

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Apostle said, There is no Hijra (i.e. migration) (from Mecca to Medina) after the Conquest (of Mecca), but Jihad and good intention remain; and if you are called (by the Muslim ruler) for fighting, go forth immediately.

Narrated `Aisha: (That she said), O Allah's Apostle! We consider Jihad as the best deed. Should we not fight in Allah's Cause? He said, The best Jihad (for women) is Hajj-Mabrur (i.e. Hajj which is done according to the Prophet's tradition and is accepted by Allah).

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward). He replied, I do not find such a deed. Then he added, Can you, while the Muslim fighter is in the battle-field, enter your mosque to perform prayers without cease and fast and never break your fast? The man said, But who can do that? Abu- Huraira added, The Mujahid (i.e. Muslim fighter) is rewarded even for the footsteps of his horse while it wanders bout (for grazing) tied in a long rope.

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: Somebody asked, O Allah's Apostle! Who is the best among the people? Allah's Apostle replied A believer who strives his utmost in Allah's Cause with his life and property. They asked, Who is next? He replied, A believer who stays in one of the mountain paths worshipping Allah and leaving the people secure from his mischief.
