حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : وَجَدَ عُمَرُ حُلَّةَ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ تُبَاعُ فِي السُّوقِ فَأَتَى بِهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ابْتَعْ هَذِهِ الْحُلَّةَ فَتَجَمَّلْ بِهَا لِلْعِيدِ وَلِلْوُفُودِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّمَا هَذِهِ لِبَاسُ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ أَوْ إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذِهِ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ فَلَبِثَ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ، ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِجُبَّةِ دِيبَاجٍ فَأَقْبَلَ بِهَا عُمَرُ حَتَّى أَتَى بِهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قُلْتَ : إِنَّمَا هَذِهِ لِبَاسُ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ أَوْ إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذِهِ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيَّ بِهَذِهِ ، فَقَالَ : تَبِيعُهَا أَوْ تُصِيبُ بِهَا بَعْضَ حَاجَتِكَ .
ہم سے یحییٰ بن بکیر نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے لیث بن سعد نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے عقیل نے ‘ ان سے ابن شہاب نے ‘ ان سے سالم بن عبداللہ نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے دیکھا کہ بازار میں ایک ریشمی جوڑا فروخت ہو رہا ہے۔ پھر اسے وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں لائے اور عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ! یہ جوڑا آپ خرید لیں اور عید اور وفود کی ملاقات پر اس سے اپنی زیبائش فرمایا کریں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا یہ ان لوگوں کا لباس ہے جن کا ( آخرت میں ) کوئی حصہ نہیں یا ( آپ نے یہ جملہ فرمایا ) اسے تو وہی لوگ پہن سکتے ہیں جن کا ( آخرت میں ) کوئی حصہ نہیں۔ پھر اللہ نے جتنے دنوں چاہا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ خاموش رہے۔ پھر جب ایک دن رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے پاس ایک ریشمی جبہ بھیجا تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ اسے لے کر خدمت نبوی میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ نے تو یہ فرمایا تھا کہ یہ ان کا لباس ہے جن کا ( آخرت میں ) کوئی حصہ نہیں ‘ یا ( عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے آپ کی بات اس طرح دہرائی کہ ) اسے وہی لوگ پہن سکتے ہیں جن کا ( آخرت میں ) کوئی حصہ نہیں۔ اور پھر آپ نے یہی میرے پاس ارسال فرما دیا۔ اس پر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ ( میرے بھیجنے کا مقصد یہ تھا کہ ) تم اسے بیچ لو ‘ یا ( فرمایا کہ ) اس سے اپنی کوئی ضرورت پوری کر سکو۔
Narrated Ibn `Umar: `Umar saw a silken cloak being sold in the market and he brought it to Allah's Apostle and said, O Allah's Apostle! Buy this cloak and adorn yourself with it on the `Id festivals and on meeting the delegations. Allah's Apostle replied, This is the dress for the one who will have no share in the Hereafter (or, this is worn by one who will have no share in the Hereafter). After sometime had passed, Allah's Apostle sent a silken cloak to `Umar. `Umar took it and brought it to Allah's Apostle and said, O Allah's Apostle! You have said that this is the dress of that who will have no share in the Hereafter (or, this is worn by one who will have no share in the Hereafter), yet you have sent me this! The Prophet said, I have sent it) so that you may sell it or fulfill with it some of your needs.

Hadith 2782
Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud: I asked Allah's Apostle, O Allah's Apostle! What is the best deed? He replied, To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times. I asked, What is next in goodness? He replied, To be good and dutiful to your parents. I further asked, what is next in goodness? He replied, To participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause. I did not ask Allah's Apostle anymore and if I had asked him more, he would have told me more.

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward). He replied, I do not find such a deed. Then he added, Can you, while the Muslim fighter is in the battle-field, enter your mosque to perform prayers without cease and fast and never break your fast? The man said, But who can do that? Abu- Huraira added, The Mujahid (i.e. Muslim fighter) is rewarded even for the footsteps of his horse while it wanders bout (for grazing) tied in a long rope.

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: Somebody asked, O Allah's Apostle! Who is the best among the people? Allah's Apostle replied A believer who strives his utmost in Allah's Cause with his life and property. They asked, Who is next? He replied, A believer who stays in one of the mountain paths worshipping Allah and leaving the people secure from his mischief.
