حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَعْثٍ ، فَقَالَ : إِنْ وَجَدْتُمْ فُلَانًا وَفُلَانًا فَأَحْرِقُوهُمَا بِالنَّارِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ أَرَدْنَا الْخُرُوجَ إِنِّي أَمَرْتُكُمْ أَنْ تُحْرِقُوا فُلَانًا وَفُلَانًا ، وَإِنَّ النَّارَ لَا يُعَذِّبُ بِهَا إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، فَإِنْ وَجَدْتُمُوهُمَا فَاقْتُلُوهُمَا .
ہم سے قتیبہ بن سعید نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے لیث نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے بکیر نے ‘ ان سے سلیمان بن یسار نے اور ان سے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں ایک مہم پر روانہ فرمایا اور یہ ہدایت فرمائی کہ اگر تمہیں فلاں اور فلاں مل جائیں تو انہیں آگ میں جلا دینا ‘ پھر جب ہم نے روانگی کا ارادہ کیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ میں نے تمہیں حکم دیا تھا کہ فلاں اور فلاں کو جلا دینا۔ لیکن آگ ایک ایسی چیز ہے جس کی سزا صرف اللہ تعالیٰ ہی دے سکتا ہے۔ اس لیے اگر وہ تمہیں ملیں تو انہیں قتل کرنا ( آگ میں نہ جلانا ) ۔
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle sent us in a mission (i.e. am army-unit) and said, If you find so-and-so and so-and-so, burn both of them with fire. When we intended to depart, Allah's Apostle said, I have ordered you to burn so-and-so and so-and-so, and it is none but Allah Who punishes with fire, so, if you find them, kill them.

Hadith 2782
Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud: I asked Allah's Apostle, O Allah's Apostle! What is the best deed? He replied, To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times. I asked, What is next in goodness? He replied, To be good and dutiful to your parents. I further asked, what is next in goodness? He replied, To participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause. I did not ask Allah's Apostle anymore and if I had asked him more, he would have told me more.

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Apostle said, There is no Hijra (i.e. migration) (from Mecca to Medina) after the Conquest (of Mecca), but Jihad and good intention remain; and if you are called (by the Muslim ruler) for fighting, go forth immediately.

Narrated `Aisha: (That she said), O Allah's Apostle! We consider Jihad as the best deed. Should we not fight in Allah's Cause? He said, The best Jihad (for women) is Hajj-Mabrur (i.e. Hajj which is done according to the Prophet's tradition and is accepted by Allah).

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward). He replied, I do not find such a deed. Then he added, Can you, while the Muslim fighter is in the battle-field, enter your mosque to perform prayers without cease and fast and never break your fast? The man said, But who can do that? Abu- Huraira added, The Mujahid (i.e. Muslim fighter) is rewarded even for the footsteps of his horse while it wanders bout (for grazing) tied in a long rope.

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: Somebody asked, O Allah's Apostle! Who is the best among the people? Allah's Apostle replied A believer who strives his utmost in Allah's Cause with his life and property. They asked, Who is next? He replied, A believer who stays in one of the mountain paths worshipping Allah and leaving the people secure from his mischief.
