حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ الضَّمْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْكُلُ مِنْ كَتِفٍ يَحْتَزُّ مِنْهَا ، ثُمَّ دُعِيَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَزَادَ فَأَلْقَى السِّكِّينَ .
ہم سے عبدالعزیز بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا، کہا مجھ سے ابراہیم بن سعد نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن شہاب نے، ان سے جعفر بن عمرو بن امیہ نے اور ان سے ان کے والد نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم شانے کا گوشت ( چھری سے ) کاٹ کر کھا رہے تھے، پھر نماز کے لیے اذان ہوئی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے نماز پڑھی لیکن وضو نہیں کیا۔ ہم سے ابوالیمان نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو شعیب نے خبر دی اور انہیں زہری نے ( اس روایت میں ) یہ زیادتی بھی موجود ہے کہ ( جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نماز کے لیے بلائے گئے تو ) آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے چھری ڈال دی۔
Narrated Umaiya Ad-Damri: I saw the Prophet eating of a shoulder (of a sheep) by cutting from it and then he was called to prayer and he prayed without repeating his ablution. Narrated Az-Zuhri: as above (Hadith No. 173...) and added that the Prophet put the knife down.

Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud: I asked Allah's Apostle, O Allah's Apostle! What is the best deed? He replied, To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times. I asked, What is next in goodness? He replied, To be good and dutiful to your parents. I further asked, what is next in goodness? He replied, To participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause. I did not ask Allah's Apostle anymore and if I had asked him more, he would have told me more.

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Apostle said, There is no Hijra (i.e. migration) (from Mecca to Medina) after the Conquest (of Mecca), but Jihad and good intention remain; and if you are called (by the Muslim ruler) for fighting, go forth immediately.

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward). He replied, I do not find such a deed. Then he added, Can you, while the Muslim fighter is in the battle-field, enter your mosque to perform prayers without cease and fast and never break your fast? The man said, But who can do that? Abu- Huraira added, The Mujahid (i.e. Muslim fighter) is rewarded even for the footsteps of his horse while it wanders bout (for grazing) tied in a long rope.

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: Somebody asked, O Allah's Apostle! Who is the best among the people? Allah's Apostle replied A believer who strives his utmost in Allah's Cause with his life and property. They asked, Who is next? He replied, A believer who stays in one of the mountain paths worshipping Allah and leaving the people secure from his mischief.
