حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ أُمَّ الرُّبَيِّعِ بِنْتَ الْبَرَاءِ وَهِيَ أُمُّ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ سُرَاقَةَ أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، أَلَا تُحَدِّثُنِي عَنْ حَارِثَةَ وَكَانَ قُتِلَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ أَصَابَهُ سَهْمٌ غَرْبٌ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ صَبَرْتُ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ اجْتَهَدْتُ عَلَيْهِ فِي الْبُكَاءِ ، قَالَ : يَا أُمَّ حَارِثَةَ إِنَّهَا جِنَانٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ، وَإِنَّ ابْنَكِ أَصَابَ الْفِرْدَوْسَ الْأَعْلَى .
ہم سے محمد بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا ہم سے حسین بن محمد ابواحمد نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا ہم سے شیبان نے بیان کیا قتادہ سے ‘ ان سے انس بن مالک نے بیان کیا کہ ام الربیع بنت براء رضی اللہ عنہا جو حارثہ بن سراقہ رضی اللہ عنہ کی والدہ تھیں ‘ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئیں اور عرض کیا، اے اللہ کے نبی! حارثہ کے بارے میں بھی آپ مجھے کچھ بتائیں۔ حارثہ رضی اللہ عنہ بدر کی لڑائی میں شہید ہو گئے تھے ‘ انہیں نامعلوم سمت سے ایک تیر آ کر لگا تھا۔ کہ اگر وہ جنت میں ہے تو صبر کر لوں اور اگر کہیں اور ہے تو اس کے لیے روؤں دھوؤں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا اے ام حارثہ! جنت کے بہت سے درجے ہیں اور تمہارے بیٹے کو فردوس اعلیٰ میں جگہ ملی ہے۔
Narrated Anas bin Malik: Um Ar-Rubai'bint Al-Bara', the mother of Hartha bin Suraqa came to the Prophet and said, O Allah's Prophet! Will you tell me about Hartha? Hartha has been killed (i.e. martyred) on the day of Badr with an arrow thrown by an unidentified person. She added, If he is in Paradise, I will be patient; otherwise, I will weep bitterly for him. He said, O mother of Hartha! There are Gardens in Paradise and your son got the Firdausal-ala (i.e. the best place in Paradise).

Hadith 2782
Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud: I asked Allah's Apostle, O Allah's Apostle! What is the best deed? He replied, To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times. I asked, What is next in goodness? He replied, To be good and dutiful to your parents. I further asked, what is next in goodness? He replied, To participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause. I did not ask Allah's Apostle anymore and if I had asked him more, he would have told me more.

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Apostle said, There is no Hijra (i.e. migration) (from Mecca to Medina) after the Conquest (of Mecca), but Jihad and good intention remain; and if you are called (by the Muslim ruler) for fighting, go forth immediately.

Narrated `Aisha: (That she said), O Allah's Apostle! We consider Jihad as the best deed. Should we not fight in Allah's Cause? He said, The best Jihad (for women) is Hajj-Mabrur (i.e. Hajj which is done according to the Prophet's tradition and is accepted by Allah).

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward). He replied, I do not find such a deed. Then he added, Can you, while the Muslim fighter is in the battle-field, enter your mosque to perform prayers without cease and fast and never break your fast? The man said, But who can do that? Abu- Huraira added, The Mujahid (i.e. Muslim fighter) is rewarded even for the footsteps of his horse while it wanders bout (for grazing) tied in a long rope.

Allah's Apostle replied A believer who strives his utmost in Allah's Cause with his life and property. They asked, Who is next? He replied, A believer who stays in one of the mountain paths worshipping Allah and leaving the people secure from his mischief.
