حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَمُوتُ لَهُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ يَسُرُّهُ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا وَأَنَّ لَهُ الدُّنْيَا ، وَمَا فِيهَا إِلَّا الشَّهِيدَ لِمَا يَرَى مِنْ فَضْلِ الشَّهَادَةِ ، فَإِنَّهُ يَسُرُّهُ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا فَيُقْتَلَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى .
ہم سے عبداللہ بن محمد نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے معاویہ بن عمرو نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ ہم سے ابواسحاق نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے حمید نے بیان کیا اور انہوں نے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”کوئی بھی اللہ کا بندہ جو مر جائے اور اللہ کے پاس اس کی کچھ بھی نیکی جمع ہو وہ پھر دنیا میں آنا پسند نہیں کرتا گو اس کی ساری دنیا اور جو کچھ اس میں ہے سب کچھ مل جائے مگر شہید پھر دنیا میں آنا چاہتا ہے کہ جب وہ ( اللہ تعالیٰ کے ) یہاں شہادت کی فضیلت کو دیکھے گا تو چاہے گا کہ دنیا میں دوبارہ آئے اور پھر قتل ہو ( اللہ تعالیٰ کے راستے میں ) ۔
Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet said, Nobody who dies and finds good from Allah (in the Hereafter) would wish to come back to this world even if he were given the whole world and whatever is in it, except the martyr who, on seeing the superiority of martyrdom, would like to come back to the world and get killed again (in Allah's Cause).

Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud: I asked Allah's Apostle, O Allah's Apostle! What is the best deed? He replied, To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times. I asked, What is next in goodness? He replied, To be good and dutiful to your parents. I further asked, what is next in goodness? He replied, To participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause. I did not ask Allah's Apostle anymore and if I had asked him more, he would have told me more.

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward). He replied, I do not find such a deed. Then he added, Can you, while the Muslim fighter is in the battle-field, enter your mosque to perform prayers without cease and fast and never break your fast? The man said, But who can do that? Abu- Huraira added, The Mujahid (i.e. Muslim fighter) is rewarded even for the footsteps of his horse while it wanders bout (for grazing) tied in a long rope.

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: Somebody asked, O Allah's Apostle! Who is the best among the people? Allah's Apostle replied A believer who strives his utmost in Allah's Cause with his life and property. They asked, Who is next? He replied, A believer who stays in one of the mountain paths worshipping Allah and leaving the people secure from his mischief.
