حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : إِنَّمَا سَعَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بالبيت وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا والمروة لِيُرِيَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قُوَّتَهُ زَادَ الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو ، سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مِثْلَهُ .
ہم سے علی بن عبداللہ مدینی نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے سفیان بن عیینہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے عمرو بن دینار نے، ان سے عطاء بن ابی رباح نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بیت اللہ کا طواف اور صفا مروہ کی سعی اس طرح کی کہ مشرکین کو آپ اپنی قوت دکھلا سکیں۔ حمیدی نے یہ اضافہ کیا ہے کہ ہم سے سفیان بن عیینہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے عمرو بن دینار نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ میں نے عطاء سے سنا اور انہوں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے یہی حدیث سنی۔
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Apostle performed Tawaf of the Ka`ba and the Sa`i of Safa and Marwa so as to show his strength to the pagans.

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Abbas: Al-Fadl (his brother) was riding behind Allah's Apostle and a woman from the tribe of Khath'am came and Al-Fadl started looking at her and she started looking at him. The Prophet turned Al-Fadl's face to the other side. The woman said, O Allah's Apostle! The obligation of Hajj enjoined by Allah on His devotees has become due on my father and he is old and weak, and he cannot sit firm on the Mount; may I perform Hajj on his behalf? The Prophet replied, Yes, you may. That happened during the Hajj-al-Wida (of the Prophet ).
