حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ : صَحِبْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَكَانَ لَا يَزِيدُ فِي السَّفَرِ عَلَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرَ ، وَعُثْمَانَ كَذَلِكَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ .
ہم سے مسدد بن مسرہد نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے یحییٰ بن سعید قطان نے بیان کیا، ان سے عیسیٰ بن حفص بن عاصم نے، انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ سے میرے باپ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کو یہ فرماتے سنا کہ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی صحبت میں رہا ہوں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سفر میں دو رکعت ( فرض ) سے زیادہ نہیں پڑھا کرتے تھے۔ ابوبکر، عمر اور عثمان رضی اللہ عنہم بھی ایسا ہی کرتے تھے۔
Narrated Ibn `Umar: I accompanied Allah's Apostle and he never offered more than two rak`at during the journey. Abu Bakr, `Umar and `Uthman used to do the same.

Narrated `Abdur Rahman bin Yazid: We offered a four rak`at prayer at Mina behind Ibn `Affan . `Abdullah bin Mas`ud was informed about it. He said sadly, Truly to Allah we belong and truly to Him we shall return. And added, I prayed two rak`at with Allah's Apostle at Mina and similarly with Abu Bakr and with `Umar (during their caliphates). He further said, May I be lucky enough to have two of the four rak`at accepted (by Allah).
