حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ هُوَ الْأَنْمَاطِيُّ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّتِهِ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ وَهُوَ عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ الْقَصْوَاءِ يَخْطُبُ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي قَدْ تَرَكْتُ فِيكُمْ مَا إِنْ أَخَذْتُمْ بِهِ لَنْ تَضِلُّوا، كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَعِتْرَتِي أَهْلَ بَيْتِي . قَالَ: وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ، وَزَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، وَحُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ، قَالَ: وَهَذَا حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، قَالَ: وَزَيْدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَدْ رَوَى عَنْهُ سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ.
جابر بن عبداللہ رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو حجۃ الوداع میں عرفہ کے دن دیکھا، آپ اپنی اونٹنی قصواء پر سوار ہو کر خطبہ دے رہے تھے، میں نے آپ کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا: ”اے لوگو! میں تم میں ایسی چیز چھوڑے جا رہا ہوں کہ اگر تم اسے پکڑے رہو گے تو ہرگز گمراہ نہ ہو گے: ایک اللہ کی کتاب ہے دوسرے میری «عترت» یعنی اہل بیت ہیں“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث اس سند سے حسن غریب ہے، ۲- زید بن حسن سے سعید بن سلیمان اور متعدد اہل علم نے روایت کی ہے، ۳- اس باب میں ابوذر، ابو سعید خدری، زید بن ارقم اور حذیفہ بن اسید رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔
Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah: I saw the Messenger of Allah during his Hajj, on the Day of 'Arafah. He was upon his camel Qaswa, giving a Khutbah, so he said: 'O people! Indeed, I have left among you, that which if you hold fast to it, you shall not go astray: The Book of Allah and my family, the people of my house.'

So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Indeed, Allah created the creation and made me [from the best of them,] from the best of their categories, and the best of the two categories (Arabs and Non-Arabs), then He chose between the tribes and made me from the best tribe, then He chose between the houses and made me from the best house. Narrated Al-Muttalib bin Abi Wada'ah: Al-Abbas came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and it is as if he heard something, so the Prophet (ﷺ) stood upon the Minbar and said: 'Who am I?' They said: 'You are the Messenger of Allah, upon you be peace.' He said: 'I am Muhammad bin 'Abdullah bin 'Abdul-Muttalib, indeed Allah created the creation, and He put me in the best [group] of them, then He made them into two groups, so He put me in the best group of them, then He made them into tribes, so He put me in the best of them in tribe, then He made them into houses, so He put me in the best of them in tribe and lineage.'
