حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، بِالرَّحَبَةِ، قَالَ: لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا نَاسٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فِيهِمْ سُهَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، وَأُنَاسٌ مِنْ رُؤَسَاءِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ خَرَجَ إِلَيْكَ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَبْنَائِنَا، وَإِخْوَانِنَا، وَأَرِقَّائِنَا وَلَيْسَ لَهُمْ فِقْهٌ فِي الدِّينِ، وَإِنَّمَا خَرَجُوا فِرَارًا مِنْ أَمْوَالِنَا وَضِيَاعِنَا، فَارْدُدْهُمْ إِلَيْنَا، قَالَ: فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمْ فِقْهٌ فِي الدِّينِ سَنُفَقِّهُهُمْ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: يَا مَعْشَرَ قُرَيْشٍ لَتَنْتَهُنَّ أَوْ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ مَنْ يَضْرِبُ رِقَابَكُمْ بِالسَّيْفِ عَلَى الدِّينِ، قَدِ امْتَحَنَ اللَّهُ قَلْبَهُ عَلَى الْإِيمَانِ ، قَالُوا: مَنْ هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: مَنْ هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ وَقَالَ عُمَرُ: مَنْ هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ: هُوَ خَاصِفُ النَّعْلِ وَكَانَ أَعْطَى عَلِيًّا نَعْلَهُ يَخْصِفُهَا، ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا عَلِيٌّ ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ، لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ رِبْعِيٍّ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: وَسَمِعْت الْجَارُودَ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ وَكِيعًا يَقُولُ: لَمْ يَكْذِبْ رِبْعِيُّ بْنُ حِرَاشٍ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ كَذْبَةً، وَأَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ، قَال: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ مَهْدِيٍّ، يَقُولُ: مَنْصُورُ بْنُ الْمُعْتَمِرِ أَثْبَتُ أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ.
ربعی بن حراش کہتے ہیں کہ ہم سے علی بن ابوطالب رضی الله عنہ نے «رحبیہ» ( مخصوص بیٹھک ) میں بیان کیا، حدیبیہ کے دن مشرکین میں سے کچھ لوگ ہماری طرف نکلے، ان میں سہیل بن عمرو اور مشرکین کے کچھ اور سردار بھی تھے یہ سب آ کر کہنے لگے: اللہ کے رسول! ہمارے بیٹوں، بھائیوں اور غلاموں میں سے کچھ آپ کی طرف نکل کر آ گئے ہیں، انہیں دین کی سمجھ نہیں وہ ہمارے مال اور سامانوں کے درمیان سے بھاگ آئے ہیں، آپ انہیں واپس کر دیجئیے اگر انہیں دین کی سمجھ نہیں تو ہم انہیں سمجھا دیں گے، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اے گروہ قریش! تم اپنی نفسیانیت سے باز آ جاؤ ورنہ اللہ تعالیٰ تمہارے اوپر ایسے شخص کو بھیجے گا جو تمہاری گردنیں اسی دین کی خاطر تلوار سے اڑائے گا، اللہ نے اس کے دل کو ایمان کے لیے جانچ لیا ہے، لوگوں نے عرض کیا: وہ کون شخص ہے؟ اللہ کے رسول! اور آپ سے ابوبکر رضی الله عنہ نے بھی پوچھا: وہ کون ہے اللہ کے رسول؟ اور عمر رضی الله عنہ نے بھی کہ وہ کون ہے اللہ کے رسول؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”وہ جوتی ٹانکنے والا ہے، اور آپ نے علی رضی الله عنہ کو اپنا جوتا دے رکھا تھا، وہ اسے ٹانک رہے تھے، ( راوی کہتے ہیں ) پھر علی رضی الله عنہ ہماری جانب متوجہ ہوئے اور کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ہے: ”جو میرے اوپر جھوٹ باندھے اسے چاہیئے کہ اپنا ٹھکانہ جہنم کو بنا لے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے، ہم اسے اس سند سے صرف ربعی ہی کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں جسے وہ علی رضی الله عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں، ۲- میں نے جارود سے سنا وہ کہہ رہے تھے: میں نے وکیع کو کہتے ہوئے سنا کہ ربعی بن حراش نے اسلام میں کبھی کوئی جھوٹ نہیں بولا، ۳- اور مجھے محمد بن اسماعیل بخاری نے خبر دی اور وہ عبداللہ بن ابی اسود سے روایت کر رہے تھے، وہ کہتے ہیں: میں نے عبدالرحمٰن بن مہدی کو کہتے سنا: منصور بن معتمر اہل کوفہ میں سب سے ثقہ آدمی ہیں۔
Narrated Rib'i bin Hirash: At Ar-Rahbah, 'Ali narrated us: 'On the Day of (the Pledge of) Hudaibiyah, some people from the idolaters came out to us. Among them was Suhail bin 'Amr, and some people among the heads of the idolaters. They said: O Messenger of Allah! People among our fathers, brothers, and slaves have come to you, and they have no knowledge of the religion, rather they came fleeing from our wealth and property, so return them to us. If they do not have knowledge of the religion, then we will teach them. So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: O people of Quraish, you will desist, or Allah will send upon you one who will chop your necks with the sword over the religion. Allah has tested their hearts regarding faith. They said: Who is he O Messenger of Allah? Abu Bakr said to him: Who is he O Messenger of Allah? 'Umar said to him: Who is he O Messenger of Allah? He said: He is the one repairing the sandals. - And he had given 'Ali his sandals to repair them. - He said: Then 'Ali turned to us and said: 'Indeed the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever lies upon me intentionally, then let him take his seat in the Fire.

So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Indeed, Allah created the creation and made me [from the best of them,] from the best of their categories, and the best of the two categories (Arabs and Non-Arabs), then He chose between the tribes and made me from the best tribe, then He chose between the houses and made me from the best house. Narrated Al-Muttalib bin Abi Wada'ah: Al-Abbas came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and it is as if he heard something, so the Prophet (ﷺ) stood upon the Minbar and said: 'Who am I?' They said: 'You are the Messenger of Allah, upon you be peace.' He said: 'I am Muhammad bin 'Abdullah bin 'Abdul-Muttalib, indeed Allah created the creation, and He put me in the best [group] of them, then He made them into two groups, so He put me in the best group of them, then He made them into tribes, so He put me in the best of them in tribe, then He made them into houses, so He put me in the best of them in tribe and lineage.'
