حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، قَالَ: تَوَضَّأَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَيَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ، وَقَالَ: الْأُذُنَانِ مِنَ الرَّأْسِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: قَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ: قَالَ حَمَّادٌ: لَا أَدْرِي هَذَا مِنْ قَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ مِنْ قَوْلِ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، قَالَ: وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَنَسٍ. قال أبو عيسى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ لَيْسَ إِسْنَادُهُ بِذَاكَ الْقَائِمِ، وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَكْثَرِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَمَنْ بَعْدَهُمْ أَنَّ الْأُذُنَيْنِ مِنَ الرَّأْسِ، وَبِهِ يَقُولُ: سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، وَابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، وَالشَّافِعِيُّ، وَأَحْمَدُ، وَإِسْحَاق، وقَالَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ: مَا أَقْبَلَ مِنَ الْأُذُنَيْنِ فَمِنَ الْوَجْهِ وَمَا أَدْبَرَ فَمِنَ الرَّأْسِ، قَالَ إِسْحَاق: وَأَخْتَارُ أَنْ يَمْسَحَ مُقَدَّمَهُمَا مَعَ الْوَجْهِ وَمُؤَخَّرَهُمَا مَعَ رَأْسِهِ، وقَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ: هُمَا سُنَّةٌ عَلَى حِيَالِهِمَا يَمْسَحُهُمَا بِمَاءٍ جَدِيدٍ.
ابوامامہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی الله علیہ وسلم نے وضو کیا تو اپنا چہرہ تین بار دھویا اور اپنے دونوں ہاتھ تین بار دھوئے اور اپنے سر کا مسح کیا اور فرمایا: ”دونوں کان سر میں داخل ہیں“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- قتیبہ کا کہنا ہے کہ حماد کہتے ہیں: مجھے نہیں معلوم کہ یہ نبی اکرم صلی الله علیہ وسلم کا قول ہے یا ابوامامہ کا، ۲- اس باب میں انس رضی الله عنہ سے بھی روایت ہے، ۳- اس حدیث کی سند قوی نہیں ہے، ۴- صحابہ کرام اور ان کے بعد کے لوگوں میں سے اکثر اہل علم کا اسی پر عمل ہے اور اسی کے قائل سفیان ثوری، ابن مبارک اور اسحاق بن راہویہ ہیں ۱؎ اور بعض اہل علم نے کہا ہے کہ کان کے سامنے کا حصہ چہرہ میں سے ہے ( اس لیے اسے دھویا جائے ) اور پیچھے کا حصہ سر میں سے ہے ۲؎۔ ( اس لیے مسح کیا جائے ) اسحاق بن راہویہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں اس بات کو پسند کرتا ہوں کہ کان کے سامنے کے حصہ کا مسح چہرہ کے ساتھ کرے ( یعنی چہرہ کے ساتھ دھوئے ) اور پچھلے حصہ کا سر کے ساتھ ۳؎، شافعی کہتے ہیں کہ دونوں الگ الگ سنت ہیں ( اس لیے ) دونوں کا مسح نئے پانی سے کرے۔
Abu Umamah narrated: The Prophet performed Wudu; so he washed his face three times, and his hands three times, and wiped his head, and he said: The ears are part of the head.
