حَدَّثَنَا الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: لَا يَقُولُ أَحَدُكُمْ: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي إِنْ شِئْتَ، اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِي إِنْ شِئْتَ، لِيَعْزِمْ الْمَسْأَلَةَ فَإِنَّهُ لَا مُكْرِهَ لَهُ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ” ( کوئی شخص دعا مانگے تو ) اس طرح نہ کہے: ”اے اللہ! تو چاہے تو ہمیں بخش دے، اے اللہ! تو چاہے تو ہم پر رحم فرما“ ۱؎ بلکہ زور دار طریقے سے مانگے، اس لیے کہ اللہ کو کوئی مجبور کرنے والا تو ہے نہیں ( کہ کہا جائے: اگر تو چاہے ) ، امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: “None of you should say: ‘O Allah forgive me if You wish. O Allah have mercy on me if You wish.’ Let him be firm in asking, for there is none that can compel Him to do things.”
