حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، قَال: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْأَحْوَصِ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَدْعُو: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَالتُّقَى وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنَى . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم یہ دعا کرتے تھے: «اللهم إني أسألك الهدى والتقى والعفاف والغنى» ”اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے ہدایت کا طالب ہوں، تقویٰ کا طلب گار ہوں، پاکدامنی کا خواہشمند ہوں، مالداری اور بے نیازی چاہتا ہوں“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
`Abdullah narrated that : the Prophet (ﷺ) used to supplicate: “O Allah, indeed, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and sufficiency (Allāhumma innī as’alukal-hudā wat-tuqā, wal-`afāfa wal-ghinā).”

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Verily, your Lord is not deaf nor absent, He is between you and between the heads of your mounts.’ Then he said: ‘O `Abdullah bin Qais, should I not inform you of a treasure from the treasures of Paradise: Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh (There is no might or power except by Allah).’”
