حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَدْعُو يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَالْهَرَمِ، وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَفِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ، وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
انس رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم یہ دعا کرتے تھے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الكسل والهرم والجبن والبخل وفتنة المسيح وعذاب القبر» ”اے اللہ! میں تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں سستی و کاہلی سے، اور انتہائی بڑھاپے سے ( جس میں آدمی ہوش و حواس کھو بیٹھتا ہے ) بزدلی و بخالت سے اور مسیح ( دجال ) کے فتنہ سے اور عذاب قبر سے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
Anas narrated that : The Prophet (ﷺ) used to supplicate, saying: “O Allah, indeed, I seek refuge in You from laziness, weakness of old age, cowardice, stinginess, the trial of Al-Masih, and the punishment of the grave (Allāhumma innī a`ūdhu bika minal-kasali wal-harami wal-jubni wal-bukhli wa fitnatil-masīḥi wa `adhabil-qabr).”

When we returned, we overlooked Al-Madinah, and the people were pronouncing the Takbīr, and they raised their voices with it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Verily, your Lord is not deaf nor absent, He is between you and between the heads of your mounts.’ Then he said: ‘O `Abdullah bin Qais, should I not inform you of a treasure from the treasures of Paradise: Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh (There is no might or power except by Allah).’”
