حَدَّثَنَا وَهُوَ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ، عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْجُمَحِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحٌ الْمُرِّيُّ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ادْعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَنْتُمْ مُوقِنُونَ بِالْإِجَابَةِ، وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَجِيبُ دُعَاءً مِنْ قَلْبٍ غَافِلٍ لَاهٍ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ، لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، سَمِعْتُ عَبَّاسًا الْعَنْبَرِيَّ، يَقُولُ: اكْتُبُوا عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْجُمَحِيِّ فَإِنَّهُ ثِقَةٌ.
ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”تم اللہ سے دعا مانگو اور اس یقین کے ساتھ مانگو کہ تمہاری دعا ضرور قبول ہو گی، اور ( اچھی طرح ) جان لو کہ اللہ تعالیٰ بےپرواہی اور بے توجہی سے مانگی ہوئی غفلت اور لہو و لعب میں مبتلا دل کی دعا قبول نہیں کرتا“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث غریب ہے، ہم اسے صرف اسی سند سے جانتے ہیں، ۲- میں نے عباس عنبری کو کہتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ عبداللہ بن معاویہ جمحی کی بیان کردہ روایتیں لکھ لو کیونکہ وہ ثقہ راوی ہیں۔
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Call upon Allah while being certain of being answered, and know that Allah does not respond to a supplication from the heart of one heedless and occupied by play.”

When we returned, we overlooked Al-Madinah, and the people were pronouncing the Takbīr, and they raised their voices with it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Verily, your Lord is not deaf nor absent, He is between you and between the heads of your mounts.’ Then he said: ‘O `Abdullah bin Qais, should I not inform you of a treasure from the treasures of Paradise: Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh (There is no might or power except by Allah).’”
