حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُوسَى الْفَزَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ خُثَيْمٍ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، كَانَ يَقُولُ لِلرَّجُلِ إِذَا أَرَادَ سَفَرًا: ادْنُ مِنِّي أُوَدِّعْكَ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوَدِّعُنَا، فَيَقُولُ: أَسْتَوْدِعُ اللَّهَ دِينَكَ وَأَمَانَتَكَ وَخَوَاتِيمَ عَمَلِكَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ.
سالم بن عبداللہ سے روایت ہے کہ جب کوئی آدمی سفر کا ارادہ کرتا تو ابن عمر رضی الله عنہما اس سے کہتے: ”میرے قریب آؤ میں تمہیں اسی طرح سے الوداع کہوں گا جس طرح رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمیں الوداع کہتے اور رخصت کرتے تھے، آپ ہمیں رخصت کرتے وقت کہتے تھے: «أستودع الله دينك وأمانتك وخواتيم عملك» ۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث اس سند سے جو سالم بن عبداللہ رضی الله عنہما سے آئی ہے حسن صحیح غریب ہے۔
Salim narrated that : when he intended to undertake a journey, Ibn `Umar used to say to a person to “Come close to me so that I may bid you farewell as the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to bid us farewell.” Then he would say: “I entrust to Allah your religion, and your trusts, and the last of your deeds (Astawdi`ullāha dīnaka wa amānataka wa khawātīma `amalik).”

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Verily, your Lord is not deaf nor absent, He is between you and between the heads of your mounts.’ Then he said: ‘O `Abdullah bin Qais, should I not inform you of a treasure from the treasures of Paradise: Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh (There is no might or power except by Allah).’”
