حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِنًى فَانْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ فَلْقَتَيْنِ: فَلْقَةٌ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْجَبَلِ، وَفَلْقَةٌ دُونَهُ، فَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: اشْهَدُوا يَعْنِي: اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ سورة القمر آية 1 ، قَالَ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ اس دوران کہ ہم منیٰ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ تھے، چاند دو ٹکڑے ہو گیا، ایک ٹکڑا ( اس جانب ) پہاڑ کے پیچھے اور دوسرا ٹکڑا اس جانب ( پہاڑ کے آگے ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہم سے فرمایا: ”گواہ رہو، یعنی اس بات کے گواہ رہو کہ «اقتربت الساعة وانشق القمر» یعنی: قیامت قریب ہے اور چاند کے دو ٹکڑے ہو چکے ہیں۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
Narrated Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him: We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in Mina, when the moon was cleft asunder into two parts. Part of it was behind the mountain, and part of it before it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to us: 'Bear witness' meaning: The house has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (54:1).
