حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ عُدَيْسَةَ بِنْتِ أُهْبَانَ بْنِ صَيْفِيٍّ الْغِفَارِيِّ، قَالَتْ: جَاءَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ إِلَى أَبِي، فَدَعَاهُ إِلَى الْخُرُوجِ مَعَهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبِي: إِنَّ خَلِيلِي وَابْنَ عَمِّكَ عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ إِذَا اخْتَلَفَ النَّاسُ أَنْ أَتَّخِذَ سَيْفًا مِنْ خَشَبٍ ، فَقَدِ اتَّخَذْتُهُ فَإِنْ شِئْتَ خَرَجْتُ بِهِ مَعَكَ، قَالَتْ: فَتَرَكَهُ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ، وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ.
عدیسہ بنت اہبان غفاری کہتی ہیں کہ میرے والد کے پاس علی رضی الله عنہ آئے اور ان کو اپنے ساتھ لڑائی کے لیے نکلنے کو کہا، ان سے میرے والد نے کہا: میرے دوست اور آپ کے چچا زاد بھائی ( رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) نے مجھے وصیت کی کہ ”جب لوگوں میں اختلاف ہو جائے تو میں لکڑی کی تلوار بنا لوں“، لہٰذا میں نے بنا لی ہے، اگر آپ چاہیں تو اسے لے کر آپ کے ساتھ نکلوں، عدیسہ کہتی ہیں: چنانچہ علی رضی الله عنہ نے میرے والد کو چھوڑ دیا ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ہم اسے صرف عبداللہ بن عبیداللہ کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں، ۲- اس باب میں محمد بن مسلمہ رضی الله عنہ سے بھی روایت ہے۔
Udaisah bint Uhban bin Safi Al-Ghifari said: Ali bin Abi Talib came to my father to call him to go out(to fight) with him. My father said to him: 'Indeed my beloved, the son of your paternal uncle, made a covenant with me, that when the people differ, to take a sword of wood. So I have resigned it, if you wish I will take it out with you.' She said: 'So he left him. '

Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunaif narrated that on the day of siege, 'Uthman bin 'Affan stood overlooking the people, and he said: I swear to you by Allah! You know that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'The blood of a Muslim man is not lawful, except for one of three (cases):Illegitimate sexual relations after Ihsan (having been married), or apostasy after Islam, or taking a life without right, for which he is killed.' By Allah! I have never committed illegitimate sexual relations, not during Jahiliyyah nor during Islam, and I have not committed apostasy since I gave my pledge to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w), and I have not taken a life that Allah had made unlawful. So for what do you fight me? '

Sulaiman bin 'Amr bin Al-Ahwas narrated from his father who said: During the Farewell Pilgrimage, I heard the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) saying: 'Which day is this?' They said:'The day of Al-Hajj Al-Akbar.'He said:'Indeed your blood, your wealth, your honour is sacred to each other, just as this day of yours is sacred in this city of yours. Indeed, no one commits a crime except against himself. Indeed none commits a crime for which his son is accountable, nor does a child commit a crime for which his father is held accountable.
