Chapters On Al-Fitan

حذیفہ بن یمان رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ہم سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دو حدیثیں بیان کیں، جن میں سے ایک کی حقیقت تو میں نے دیکھ لی ۱؎، اور دوسری کا انتظار کر رہا ہوں، آپ نے فرمایا: ”امانت لوگوں کے دلوں کے جڑ میں اتری پھر قرآن کریم اترا اور لوگوں نے قرآن سے اس کی اہمیت قرآن سے جانی اور سنت رسول سے اس کی اہمیت جانی“ ۲؎، پھر آپ نے ہم سے امانت کے اٹھ جانے کے بارے میں بیان کرتے ہوئے فرمایا: ”آدمی ( رات کو ) سوئے گا اور اس کے دل سے امانت اٹھا لی جائے گی ( اور جب وہ صبح کو اٹھے گا ) تو اس کا تھوڑا سا اثر ایک نقطہٰ کی طرح دل میں رہ جائے گا، پھر جب دوسری بار سوئے گا تو اس کے دل سے امانت اٹھا لی جائے گی اور اس کا اثر کھال موٹا ہونے کی طرح رہ جائے گا ۳؎، جیسے تم اپنے پاؤں پر چنگاری پھیرو تو آبلہ ( پھپھولا ) پڑ جاتا ہے، تم اسے پھولا ہوا پاتے ہو حالانکہ اس میں کچھ نہیں ہوتا“، پھر حذیفہ رضی الله عنہ ایک کنکری لے کر اپنے پاؤں پر پھیرنے لگے اور فرمایا: ”لوگ اس طرح ہو جائیں گے کہ خرید و فروخت کریں گے لیکن ان میں کوئی امانت دار نہ ہو گا، یہاں تک کہ کہا جائے گا: فلاں قبیلہ میں ایک امانت دار آدمی ہے، اور کسی آدمی کی تعریف میں یہ کہا جائے گا: کتنا مضبوط شخص ہے! کتنا ہوشیار اور عقلمند ہے! حالانکہ اس کے دل میں رائی کے دانہ برابر بھی ایمان نہ ہو گا“، حذیفہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں: میرے اوپر ایک ایسا وقت آیا کہ خرید و فروخت میں کسی کی پرواہ نہیں کرتا تھا، اگر میرا فریق مسلمان ہوتا تو اس کی دینداری میرا حق لوٹا دیتی اور اگر یہودی یا نصرانی ہوتا تو اس کا سردار میرا حق لوٹا دیتا، جہاں تک آج کی بات ہے تو میں تم میں سے صرف فلاں اور فلاں سے خرید و فروخت کرتا ہوں۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

Hudhaifah [bin Al-Yaman] said: The Messenger of Allah {s.a.w} narrated two narrations to us, one of which I have seen {happening} and I am waiting for the other. He narrated that (in the beginning) trust was preserved in the roots of the hearts of men, then the Qur'an was revealed, and they learned it from the Qur'an, and then they learned it from the Sunnah. Then he narrated to us about the disappearance of trust, saying, 'A man will go to sleep whereupon trust will be taken away from his heart, and only its trace will remain, like speckles. He then will sleep, whereupon the remainder of the trust will also be taken away and trace will remain like a blister, like an ember that you roll on your feet, it causes pain and you see it swollen while it contains nothing.' Then he took a pebble and rolled it over his leg. He said: 'So there will come a day when people will deal in business with each other, but there will hardly be any trustworthy persons among them, such that it would be said that in such and such a tribe, there is such and such person, who is honest, and until a man will be admired for his strength, intelligence, and good manners, although indeed he will not have faith equal to a mustard seed in his heart. ' He (Hudhaifah) added: There came upon me a time when I did not mind dealing with anyone of you, for if he was a Muslim, his religion would prevent him from cheating me, and if was a Jew or a Christian, his Muslim ruler would prevent him from cheating me; but today I cannot deal except with so-and-so and so-and-so.
