حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ اللَّيْثِ الْكُوفِيُّ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: مَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ يُوضَعُ فِي الْمِيزَانِ أَثْقَلُ مِنْ حُسْنِ الْخُلُقِ وَإِنَّ صَاحِبَ حُسْنِ الْخُلُقِ لَيَبْلُغُ بِهِ دَرَجَةَ صَاحِبِ الصَّوْمِ وَالصَّلَاةِ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ.
ابو الدرداء رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا: ”میزان میں رکھی جانے والی چیزوں میں سے اخلاق حسنہ ( اچھے اخلاق ) سے بڑھ کر کوئی چیز وزنی نہیں ہے، اور اخلاق حسنہ کا حامل اس کی بدولت روزہ دار اور نمازی کے درجہ تک پہنچ جائے گا“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث اس سند سے غریب ہے۔
Abu Ad-Dardh narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: Nothing is placed on the Scale that is heavier than good character. Indeed the person with good character will have attained the rank of the person of fasting and prayer.

Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Bakrah narrated from his father who said: The messenger of Allah said: 'Shall I not tell you of the biggest of the major sins?' they said : 'Of course! O Messenger of Allah!' He said: 'To join partners with Allah, and disobeying one's parents.' He said : He sat up, and he had been reclining. He said: 'And false testimony, or false speech.' And the Messenger of Allah would not stop saying it until we said (to ourselves): 'I wish that he would stop.'
