حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: الْمُسْتَبَّانِ مَا قَالَا فَعَلَى الْبَادِي مِنْهُمَا مَا لَمْ يَعْتَدِ الْمَظْلُومُ ، وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ سَعْدٍ، وَابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”گالی گلوچ کرنے والے دو آدمیوں میں سے گالی کا گناہ ان میں سے شروع کرنے والے پر ہو گا، جب تک مظلوم حد سے آگے نہ بڑھ جائے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں سعد، ابن مسعود اور عبداللہ بن مغفل رضی الله عنہم سے بھی حدیثیں مروی ہیں۔
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: (The burden of) what is said by the two who vilify each other is upon the one who initiated it, as long as the one who was wronged does not transgress.

Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Bakrah narrated from his father who said: The messenger of Allah said: 'Shall I not tell you of the biggest of the major sins?' they said : 'Of course! O Messenger of Allah!' He said: 'To join partners with Allah, and disobeying one's parents.' He said : He sat up, and he had been reclining. He said: 'And false testimony, or false speech.' And the Messenger of Allah would not stop saying it until we said (to ourselves): 'I wish that he would stop.'
