حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَضْرِبُ مَمْلُوكًا لِي، فَسَمِعْتُ قَائِلًا مِنْ خَلْفِي، يَقُولُ: اعْلَمْ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ، اعْلَمْ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ، فَالْتَفَتُّ: فَإِذَا أَنَا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: لَلَّهُ أَقْدَرُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْكَ عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ: فَمَا ضَرَبْتُ مَمْلُوكًا لِي بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ التَّيْمِيُّ: إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ.
ابومسعود انصاری رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں اپنے غلام کو مار رہا تھا کہ پیچھے سے کسی کہنے والے کی آواز سنی وہ کہہ رہا تھا: ابومسعود جان لو، ابومسعود جان لو ( یعنی خبردار ) ، جب میں نے مڑ کر دیکھا تو میرے پاس رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تھے آپ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ تم پر اس سے کہیں زیادہ قادر ہے جتنا کہ تم اس غلام پر قادر ہو“۔ ابومسعود کہتے ہیں: اس کے بعد میں نے اپنے کسی غلام کو نہیں مارا ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
Abu Mas'ud [Al-Ansari] said: I was beating a slave of mine and I heard someone behind me saying: 'Beware O Abu Mas'ud! Beware O Abu Mas'ud!' So I turned around and saw that it was the Messenger of Allah. He said: 'Allah has more power over you than you do over him. Abu Mas'ud said: I have not beaten any slave of mine since then.

Bahz bin Hakim narrated from his father, from his grandfather who said: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Who most deserves(my) reverence?' He said: 'Your mother.' He said: I said: 'Then who?' He said: 'Your mother.' He said: I said: 'Then who?' He said: 'Your mother.' He said: I said: 'Then who?' He said: 'Then your father, then the nearest relatives, then the nearest relatives.'

Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Bakrah narrated from his father who said: The messenger of Allah said: 'Shall I not tell you of the biggest of the major sins?' they said : 'Of course! O Messenger of Allah!' He said: 'To join partners with Allah, and disobeying one's parents.' He said : He sat up, and he had been reclining. He said: 'And false testimony, or false speech.' And the Messenger of Allah would not stop saying it until we said (to ourselves): 'I wish that he would stop.'
