Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif visited the Lahore Flyover Bridge near Arfa Karim IT Tower and the Central Business District Underpass a couple of days ago and set timeframes for the completion of these projects.

PM Sharif set a two-week timetable for the CBD Underpass project and a one-month deadline for the Lahore Flyover Bridge.

The PM was informed during his visit to the Lahore Flyover Bridge that the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) had proposed a PKR 1,712 million project for 2021. However, due to the issuing of a no-objection certificate, the project’s development was delayed by two years.

During his visit to the CBD Underpass, the premier called the development delay unfair and appointed a famous third party to validate the project at the expense of the construction business.

He also commanded that development work be hastened and that labourers be paid three times the customary rate for working during Eid holidays.

Meanwhile, CBD Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Amin briefed the PM on the CBD Underpass project, which is nearing completion. The project will be accomplished after Eid-ul-Fitr, it was stated.

The PM directed the LDA to ensure top-notch buildings for the protection of citizens. Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, the chief secretary, and other top officials accompanied PM Shehbaz.

Later, at the CM’s residence, the PM was briefed on the Imamia Colony Flyover project as well as the proposed Lahore-Sialkot Motorway Link Road. He directed that the former be developed quickly and that a three-member team be formed to deliver a full briefing on the latter.

Moreover, Mohsin Naqvi evaluated progress on current projects such as the Lahore Bridge Extension, the CBD Boulevard Gulberg Underpass, and the Samanabad Underpass.

According to the news source, the caretaker CM reviewed alternate traffic arrangements on Gulshan-e-Ravi,?Ferozepur Road, Gulberg, Samanabad, and Multan Road. During the inspection, he directed the appropriate authority to hurry up the projects. He added that the project needed to be completed as quickly as feasible for the sake of public convenience and traffic flow.
