Muhammad Azam Khan, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has inaugurated the Phase I of Rashkai Special Economic Zone on Friday.
The ceremony was?attended by the Secretary of the Federal Board of Investment, Provincial Chief Secretary, General Manager of China Road and Bridge Corporation, CEO of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company and other concerned officials.
The inauguration of this SEZ is of extremely important as it is the milestone in the development of the CPEC. Rashkai Special Economic Zone is situated at the nexus of economic growth and is testament to the strong partnership between Pakistan and China.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM appreciated the Exceptional efforts and unwavering commitment of China Road and Bridge Corporation and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company for successfully completion of Phase–I of the?project six month before the deadline.
He thanked the Chinese government, companies and public sector entities for their support along with all those who participated in the completion of the project.
According to the official sources, the phase I of this big project encompassed 247 acres of the modern facilities, designed to attract domestic and external investors promising to start up economic growth and job creation under the umbrella of China Pakistan Economic Corridors.
The sources added that This phase housed 18 zone enterprises with seven being under construction mobilizing as estimated investment of Rs.85 billion.
The concerned official sources told the media that the authorities were committed to expand the infrastructure, streamline business processes, attract big industries and unlock the Special Economic Zones full potential as part of the ongoing CPEC decade.
