The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) issued a statement that?construction on the long-awaited Structure Plan Road has begun. According to a recent tweet from the LDA, the new road will run from Ayub Chowk to Abdul Sattar Edhi Road.

The project was launched in response to popular demand and is intended to considerably ease residents’ everyday journeys. The Structure Plan Road is designed to relieve traffic congestion on parallel roads by providing an alternate path.

The announcement drew enthusiastic reactions from the public, with many expressing eagerness for the project’s completion.

Some people, however, used the occasion to highlight other locations in need of improvement, including?the link between the?Madr e Millat route and IEP and the route from the Metro store to Ittefaq Hospital.

LDA has been engaged in undertaking initiatives targeted at enhancing infrastructure and reducing traffic congestion in Lahore under its current leadership. The start of the Structure Plan Road project is a further move towards accomplishing these objectives.

Meanwhile, the Authority sealed 10 properties and partially dismantled seven workshops and marble manufacturers on LDA Avenue One for unauthorised constructions and commercial use of land.

The operation was carried out on the orders of LDA DG Muhammad Ali Randhawa against unauthorised structures and commercial usage of land on LDA Avenue One’s major Boulevard.

Furthermore, the LDA DG presided over a meeting on resource creation and provided the Finance director with a full briefing on the income targets of all departments present. Revenue generation has increased significantly in the last two and a half months as a result of good monitoring.

The meeting reviewed sector-specific collection targets for various dues/charges such as commercialization, recovery, and transfer fees.
