25km long Srinagar Highway becomes signal free with completion of Jinnah Square project

Newly constructed Serena Chowk Interchange now renamed as Jinnah Square will make the Srinagar Highway a signal free road.

The much-anticipated project Serena Chowk Interchange was finally inaugurated, marking a significant milestone in Islamabad’s infrastructure development. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi declared that the project, which includes three underpasses and connecting roads, has been completed in a record-breaking 72 days— display of high efficiency. 

Minister Naqvi himself visited the site of the project to monitor and keep in check the final preparations before the opening. He admired the fast speed rate of construction, and he also emphasized that high-quality standards had been upheld throughout the process. “Despite the fast-track finalizing, we ensured that durability, safety, and aesthetics were never compromised,” he stated. 

A Solution to Islamabad’s Long-Standing Traffic Woes 

The Serena Chowk Interchange is considered to be a strategic project which is designed for addressing one of Islamabad’s most persistent traffic bottlenecks. It is situated at a crucial junction connecting Serena Hotel, the Convention Center, Constitution Avenue, and the Diplomatic Enclave, this interchange is expected to improve connectivity for travelers, diplomats, and residents alike.

Minister Naqvi highlighted the functional and aesthetic aspects of the interchange, describing how the project was designed with modern urban landscaping in mind. “We’ve not only built an essential road network but have also taken measures for enhancing the city’s beauty. The entire interchange has been glamorized with lush greenery, seasonal flowers, and artistic landscaping to reflect Islamabad’s identity as a clean and green capital,” he said. 

Recognition of Efforts 

The Minister applauded the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and his dedicated team, recognizing their relentless efforts in guaranteeing the project’s timely completion. “This is a testament to what can be achieved with dedication and efficient planning. He congratulated the whole team for making the dream come true,”. 

As Islamabad continues to expand, projects like the Serena Chowk Interchange play a crucial role in making advancements in its infrastructure and improving the quality of life for its masses. With its official inauguration set for February 4, residents and commuters can look forward to a smoother, safer, and more scenic travel experience.
