The updated 2023 Hyundai Elantra has been made public. Over three years have passed since the seventh-generation Elantra made its debut in March 2020 before the mid-cycle upgrade.
The brand’s parametric grille is now included on the Elantra’s new front appearance. The grille has an inset similar to the Tucson’s, although being a little broader and shorter.
The air ducts at the corners of the bumper are surrounded by a large intake and diagonal trim on the lower apron. The headlamps now have a sleeker profile.
In order to contrast the black bottom portion and decorative diffuser fins, the rear bumper also receives a U-shaped accent in the body colour. Improved window integration comes from new wheels and a rear window pillar design.
The Elantra sports an infotainment display and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The only difference in the dashboard’s design is the choice for green seat covering.
The Elantra’s 1.6-liter, four-cylinder Smartstream engine in South Korea generates 121 horsepower and 154 Nm of torque. This has the company’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), which has eight virtual speeds, and is available in Malaysia.
With a six-speed automated transmission, the Gamma 1.6 litre NA four-cylinder LPG engine generates 118 horsepower and 152 Nm. 139 horsepower and 265 Nm are produced by a Smartstream 1.6-liter engine with an electric motor.
The Elantra N Line comes with a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with a Smartstream 1.6 litre turbo-four cylinder engine with 201 hp or 150 kW and 265 Nm. The top-tier Elantra N comes with an optional eight-speed DCT or a Theta 2.0 litre turbo-four with 276 horsepower and 392 Nm.
It is currently uncertain when the brand-new Elantra will make its ASEAN market debut. The launch will take place this year, but only after the big revelation.
