Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister,?inaugurated the Kunhar Sharif Bridge over the Indus River, connecting Torghar and Buner districts.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony which was held at a local girls school at Kunhar Sharif in Torghar district, the minister said, I am here on your soil to inaugurate this mega development project, which will be executed with Rs10 billion. And wont make a political speech as Awami National Party doesnt believe in mudslinging on political rivals.
He stated that he had a special love and fondness for the people of Torghar because he approved district status for the former tribal belt in 2011, and earmarked a Rs6 billion special development package for offices and infrastructure at the time. ?This is the second large project to be executed on your soil, as work on the bridge will start in a couple of weeks as funds are already earmarked by the government for it, he added.
Moreover, Haider Hoti stated that the bridge will not only connect Torghar and Peshawar via Buner, cutting travel time in half but would also connect five important tribes who have lived in the district for centuries.
Our party is going into the general elections with a great vision to end deprivations among people. I am optimistic that we will install our partys government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the former chief minister said.
Meanwhile, former Torghar district development advisory committee chairman and MPA Laiq Mohammad Khan also?spoke on the occasion, saying that despite opposition from the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government, he began huge development projects. ?
I have taken initiatives to provide education and healthcare facilities to locals and laid the foundation of the schools, colleges and district headquarters hospital, the minister further noted.
The federal government provided
