The Punjab Governor, Balighur Rehman, has confirmed that the second phase of the Bahawalpur ring road project is set to begin soon.
This phase will span from Bindra Pulli on Multan Road to Bahawalpur Railway Station and is expected to cost over Rs. 10 billion.
Governor Rehman expressed his dedication to utilizing all available resources for the development of the city during a meeting with a delegation led by former parliamentarian Syed Tabish Alwari.
The delegation, which included representatives from the Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Bahawalpur Gymkhana, discussed various development projects and initiatives with the governor.
In addition to the ring road project, Governor Rehman announced an increase in the central annual grant for Sadiq Public School (SPS) in Bahawalpur from Rs. 20 million to Rs. 60 million. This move demonstrates the commitment to supporting education in the region.
Furthermore, he pledged to establish an IT center at the new industrial estate in Bahawalpur, aiming to promote technological advancements and facilitate economic growth.Governor Rehman also shared plans to introduce Holy Quran teaching in private schools across Punjab, emphasizing the importance of religious education alongside academic curriculum.
During his visit, Governor Rehman took the opportunity to offer condolences to the family of the late Hafiz Muhammad Younus, a prominent local traders’ leader who recently passed away. This gesture highlights the governor’s acknowledgment of the contributions made by influential individuals within the community.
