Sajid Hussain Turi, the federal minister for overseas Pakistanis and human resource development, declared that the Kurram tribal region will soon be home to a scientific and technology university.

According to a press release issued here on Monday, the minister claimed that this university is a catalytic initiative for the tribal residents who have been denied access to their basic rights since Pakistan’s founding. In this respect, Professor Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and Sajid Hussain Turi met.

In the meeting, it was decided to establish one university in each district of the former FATA,?commonly known as the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In this way, the students of the area will?not face any difficulties in obtaining higher education and they would not be deprived of their basic right of getting higher education.

The minister continued that the region’s development and prosperity were dependent on high-quality education.

In this competitive age, the kid with higher education would have more chances. He declared, “Education is a form of investment because it generates an income stream just like any other investment would.

The establishment of institutions in all tribal areas, including Kurram district, has long been a goal of Turi’s, and today he was?pleased to announce the opening of Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) in Karam district. He continued by saying that an official decision had been made to create a university in Parachinar. This institution will soon be opened, and admissions would begin to be published for the new academic year in a variety of sectors of science, IT, and the arts.

Classes would initially be temporarily held in Government College No. 2 Parachinar, according to him, but during the tenure of the Pakistan People’s Party’s previous administration, acres of land were purchased for the construction of a magnificent building for the university, on which work would begin by the end of this year.
