Murree And China’s Dujiangyan Are Sister Cities That Will Host 30 Million Tourists Annually

The?Chinese city of Dujiangyan and the Pakistani city of Murree signed?a Letter of Intent to form a sister-city relationship in order to strengthen people-to-people contacts and practical cooperation. 

According to the sources, the signing ceremony took place in Dujiangyan’s famed Lidui Park. Murree was represented by Ambassador Moin ul Haque, while Dujiangyan was represented by Mayor Zhang Yadan.


The partnership agreement was designed with the scenic environment of the two cities between green hills and their touristic qualities in mind.


Dujiangyan’s experience hosting and managing more than 30 million tourists yearly would benefit Murree’s aspirations to manage big inflows of visitors and develop its tourism facilities. 

The latest sister-city?relationship will also strengthen the already strong people-to-people links between China and Pakistan, which are represented by over forty sister province and sister-city?relationships between different areas and towns in China and Pakistan. 


Earlier, the Punjab Forest Department and the World Wide Fund for Nature Pakistan (WWFP) signed an important agreement for tracking and mapping forests in the Murree Forests Division, as well as highlighting encroachments on forest land. 


As per a press release, the ceremony was held at the Punjab Forest Secretariat, which was led by Babar Hassan Bharwana, the secretary of the?forestry, wildlife, fisheries, and tourist department, and Ali Hasan Habib, DG of WWF Pakistan.
