On Jinnah Avenue in Blue Area, Islamabad, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) plans to construct a 38-story high-rise office and commercial skyscraper.
The PCAA Tower, which is expected to be 38 stories tall and feature cutting-edge amenities, is planned to be Islamabad’s tallest structure.?According to the details, the tower would house corporate offices of airlines, airline booking centres, business centres, seminar and conference rooms, media centres, and financial institutions and banks, in addition to PCAA directorates and branches.
There will also be an aviation science museum, an art gallery, a health and fitness centre, indoor sports facilities, baby daycare centres, food courts, and hotel/lodging facilities in the PCAA Tower.
In addition, the structure would also house offices for various PCAA cadres and have a covered area of approximately 850,000 square feet.
It was also reported that the project is expected to cost approximately Rs. 14 billion, to achieve sustainability, water conservation, energy efficiency, environmentally friendly design, and a low carbon footprint.
It is worth noting that Islamabad is one of the few cities in Pakistan where high-rise buildings are more prevalent than in other parts of the country. To address the scarcity of residential space in the overcrowded metropolitan, large areas are now dedicated to high-rise apartment buildings.
Mahmood Khan, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), laid the groundwork for two high-rise structures on Warsak Road in Peshawar earlier this year.
According to the data, the multi-story structures have 1,240 residential apartments of various sizes and other amenities. The project will cost PKR 17.5 billion in total.?One of the buildings, with ten residential stories and three commercial floors, will take up more than five kanals of land. A second high-rise structure with ten residential levels will be built on 79 Kanal of land at the Rehman Baba Complex.
While speaking at the event, CM Khan praised the provincial housing minister’s efforts in initiating the development of residential buildings.?He also mentioned that low-income people would have access to the residential facilities in these high-rise structures.
