Gujranwala To Be Linked With Lahore-Sialkot Motorway: Punjab Cm

The Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, announced the linking of the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway and stated that residents of Gujranwala will benefit significantly from having a communication link with the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway.

As per the news, the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegation met with Parvez Elahi and former federal minister Moonis Elahi at the Chief Minister’s Office. MNA Hussain Elahi was also present. It will be simple for industrialists to transport their products to other cities, he added, adding that this highway would also link other cities.

The CM stated that the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway was planned during the previous administration. Still, the PML-N-led government changed the plan, which increased the cost and prevented many cities from being linked to the highway. “Gujranwala is my hometown, and I plan to visit it soon,” he said. Gujranwala residents’ problems will be addressed first and foremost. He also stated that the government would consider establishing a new industrial estate for Gujranwala’s industrialists.

Moreover, the delegation proposed a project collaboration with the Punjab government and stated that they are prepared to provide financial support. Ali Ashraf, Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Faisal Ayub, former president Malik Zaheerul Haq, Sheikh Irfan Sohail, Anwar Aslam, former president Umar Ashraf Mughal, and others were among those in the delegation. Kh Dawood Soleimani and Umar Farooq, both MPAs, were also present.

In addition, Parvez Elahi presided over a meeting about the Walled City of Lahore Authority at his office (WCLA). The CM directed that drones be provided to the WCLA to monitor historic buildings and places and address the encroachment issue in congested areas. He added that this would also aid in preserving historic buildings and sites.
