The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved additional funding for Bhara Kahu Bypass Project after it had completed more than half of its work.
According to a CDA spokesperson, the Bhara Kahu bypass project is now fully operational, with more than half of the work completed.
Furthermore, following the chairman of the civic authority’s visit, the CDA tweeted that the project would reduce traffic congestion and pollution while making it easier for visitors to visit Murree.
The CDA chairman, Capt (r) Mohammad Usman, as well as Member Engineering Syed Munawar Shah and others, made inspection visits to the project site.
In addition, a member of the engineering department and the director provided an update on the project’s status to the chairman. The CDA chairman directed the engineering wing to complete the project as soon as possible.
Despite the 24-hour effort, it appears that the massive project will not be completed by the deadline set by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on February 10.
The sources further said that even if the 6-kilometre project, which includes a bridge, an interchange, three underpasses, and a more than one-kilometre flyover, is completed by the end of March, the CDA will have accomplished a great deal.
The 6.5 billion rupee bypass project begins in Malpur and runs through the property of Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU).
It is worth noting that the university’s 199 Kanal land is said to be in the road’s alignment, according to the CDA, who previously gave the QAU 225 Kanal in exchange.
However, the project was marred by controversy after QAU academics filed a lawsuit and won a 2-month stay order.
Moreover, the faculty members’ petition was recently denied by the Islamabad High Court (IHC), and the CDA then accelerated work at the QAU component. Meanwhile, the QAU filed an intra-court appeal with the IHC.
