Investment In Pakistani Startups Increased By 30% In Last Four Years

Syed Amin Ul Haque, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication held a detailed meeting with different delegations of tech companies including Huawei, and successful startups on the sidelines of GITEX Global 2022 in Dubai. 


According to media sources, the minister also visited Ignite Pavilion and acknowledged startups for participating in GITEX. Talking at the event, Amin Ul Haque said that investment in Pakistani startups had shown a 30 percent increase during the past four years. The increased investment in Pakistani startups shows the level of trust in government policies, he added. 


The IT minister also inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion in the Middle East’s mega technology event earlier this week. The pavilion was established with the support of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). 


In addition, Pakistan Software House Association (P@SHA) Chairman Zohaib Khan, said in a statement that under the umbrella of?P@SHA Pakistani IT companies?have shown their various capabilities to who is who of the international IT industry at GITEX. 


The?P@SHA?chairman further underscored the fact that experientially GITEX 2022 has been recognized to be the most successful exposition for Pakistani IT companies vis-a-vis hundreds of millions of dollars worth of business generation. 


Expressing his optimism, he said that tangible gains have been successfully attained during the exhibition be that export orders, skill development collaborations, single-country follow-up meetings, investment propositions, B2B alliances, or ground-breaking discussions on joint ventures. 


Moreover, secretary IT & Telecom Mohsin Mushtaq addressed the event and stated that startups were generating jobs, empowering women and bringing investments. “We are witnessing growth in not only the number of startups but also an increase in our network of national incubation centres, investors’ interest and startup competitions.” 


It is to be noted that GITEX is the largest event in the entire middle-east & GCC region for IT, ITeS, and other allied technologies. 29 member companies of?P@SHA?are participating in GITEX in collaboration with PSEB this year.
