Fgeha’s Unauthorized Property Listings In G-12 And F-12 Under Scrutiny By Pm

The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) is facing scrutiny over its advertisement of properties in the G-12 and F-12 sectors, which were listed without prior approval from its Executive Board.  

This has raised concerns as there are approximately 7,450 unauthorized residential and commercial listings in these sectors. Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, who also serves as the Housing Minister, has taken notice of the situation and instructed the Housing Secretary to prepare a detailed report on the matter. 


An initial assessment of Built-Up Properties (BuP) in these sectors has revealed a total of 6,500 residential properties and 950 commercial properties, with plot sizes ranging from 139 square yards to 500 square yards.


The tentative prices for these properties vary from PKR 8,340,000 to PKR 30,000,000. This situation highlights the need for proper authorization and regulation in the real estate sector to ensure transparency and adherence to legal procedures. 


The unauthorized listings of residential and commercial properties in sectors G-12 and F-12 have not only raised eyebrows but also cast doubts on the transparency and due diligence within the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority. 


Such actions can erode public trust and confidence in government-led housing initiatives. Therefore, the Caretaker Prime Minister’s intervention to investigate and report on this matter is a step in the right direction to address the issue promptly. 


The large number of unauthorized listings also indicates the potential for financial impropriety and mismanagement within the FGEHA. The varying property sizes and prices underscore the need for a comprehensive audit and scrutiny of the entire process to determine whether any irregularities, such as underpricing or favoritism, have occurred. 


This case serves as a reminder of the importance of stringent oversight and adherence to established protocols in government-run housing authorities to maintain credibility and ensure fairness for all stakeholders involved.
