Pakistani Investors Set Up 3,395 New Companies In Dubai In 1St Half Of 2023

In the first half of 2023, Dubai has witnessed a significant surge in overseas company registrations, with Pakistan ranking third, contributing 3,395 new companies to the mix, marking a notable 59% increase compared to H1 2022. This brings the total number of Pakistani companies in Dubai to 40,315. 

According to the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Indian investors topped the list, with 6,717 new Indian-owned companies joining the chamber in H1 2023, reflecting a year-over-year growth of 39%. In total, Indian companies constituted 22.3% of the 30,146 new firms that became chamber members in H1 2023, with the total number of Indian companies registered in Dubai reaching 90,118. 


The UAE itself ranked second in the number of new companies joining the chamber during the first half of this year, with 4,445 new companies registered. This robust influx of businesses reflects Dubai’s dynamic and vibrant business environment, showcasing its ability to consistently attract foreign direct investment from diverse nationalities. 


Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, emphasized the 43% increase in new chamber members during H1 2023, highlighting the value-added by Dubai’s facilities, services, and activities for businesses, aligning with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda. 


Other countries also saw significant increases in new memberships, such as Egypt, with 2,154 new companies, marking a 102% increase compared to H1 2022. Syria recorded a 24% increase, while Bangladesh saw a 47% rise in new company registrations.


The United Kingdom experienced a 40% increase, and China saw a 69% rise, while Jordan, Lebanon, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Tanzania, and Hungary all contributed to the growing diversity of businesses joining the Dubai Chamber. 


These new member companies engaged in various sectors, with trading and repair services, real estate, and business services leading the way in terms of activities during H1 2023. The construction, transport, storage, and telecommunications sectors also made notable contributions to the expanding business landscape in Dubai.
