The incidents of birds collisions with the planes have tremendously increased in Pakistan, the number of such cases increased to 61, said the sources of Pakistan International Airlines.

According to international flight rules and regulations, the airports must be established at a certain distance from the population so as to avoid the strikes of birds. There is abundance of birds in populated areas where the bids find the eatables easily.

All over the world, the practice of establishing the airports as per international rules is followed but in Pakistan, this highly desirable and useful law is avoided for unknown reasons.

The sources of Pakistan International Airlines report that there were thirtynine incidents of birds strike with the national carrier which caused heavy financial losses. These cases caused the grounding of planes and cancelling the flight operations.

The biggest number of bird collisions took place in Karachi’s Jinnah Airport where nineteen cases occurred.

Meanwhile, in Lahore airport, the number of birds’ strike cases with aircrafts were 17. Five cases of birds collision took place in Islamabad airport, fours cases were reported in Quetta airport, two cases of birds strike took place in Sukkar and Multan airports?each while one case of birds collision occurred in Sialkot and one case at Peshawar airports.

The Civil Aviation Authority has announced a number of times the installation of special equipment but no action in this direction could be materialized so far.
