(4 July, IANS) The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be held in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA), the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday. In preparation for that tournament, the Pakistan men’s squad will tour England in May of next year to play a four-match T20I series.

The highly awaited four-match T20I series between Pakistan and England will be played next year.

Interestingly, in the T20 World Cup 2022 final in Melbourne, England defeated Pakistan by five wickets with one over remaining. Prior to the Australia tournament, a seven-match T20I series between England and Pakistan was played in Karachi and Lahore, with the visitors winning 4-3.

The ICC T20I Team Rankings place England in second place, five points ahead of Pakistan, who are rated fourth.

Details on Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against the Netherlands and two-match T20I series against Ireland before they travel to England will be released soon.

In addition to the men’s team, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday that the national women’s team will tour England in May 2019 for three T20 Internationals and three ICC Women’s Championship 2022–25 matches.

The official schedule for the series was announced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), adding to the growing excitement for this matchup of cricket’s top teams.

The national squad will play a three-match T20I series against the Netherlands before travelling to England, then play Ireland in a two-match T20I series.

There will be more intrigue and speculative activity among cricket fans when information on these white-ball series is revealed in the upcoming months.

The T20 International series between the T20 World Cup 2022 champions and the runners-up last took place in 2022, with England barely winning on Pakistani soil with a score of 4-3.

It is important to note that the Men in Green’s most recent trip to England in 2021 ended in a spirited 2-1 loss.

Also adding to the excitement of this upcoming series is England’s recent victory in the T20 World Cup 2022 final, which was played in Melbourne.
