The approval for 12MW of continuous electricity supply to New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) for seamless operation has been granted.
The Ministry of Planning decided to activate the NGIA in order to meet its energy needs. The Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), in partnership with the National Power Distribution Company, has received official approval for 12 MW of power for the New Gwadar International Airport. For the complete implementation of the project, dedicated teams have been dispatched to the site.
The tenting and commissioning process is estimated to take 10 days, according to a QESCO official. All necessary infrastructure, including?pole erections, electrical circuits, and transmission Lines have already been installed and are in synchronization with the existing power system.
Moreover, NGIA will have continuous access to 12 MW of power to maintain an?uninterrupted power supply.? Three electricity transmission lines will be linked to NGIA, enabling backup measures in case one line experiences operational troubles.
The following are the three electricity transmission lines:

The first line is a 286-kilometre-long 132kV dual-circuit transmission line that moves through Naal–Basima-Naag-Panjgur;

The second line starts from the Mund-Pishin-Turbat transmission line and connects to the Gwadar Grid Station.

The third line connects the Gabd-Remden transmission line to the Jiwini-Gwadar Grid Station.
