Formula Electric Racing NUST (FERN) continues achievements in the tech and automotive arena by accomplishing significant milestones consistently.
According to the sources, a group of students from Pakistan Navy Engineering College-NUST brought Tesla on board as their innovative partner. It is one of the major achievements in the teams long list of international accolades.
A representative of FERN told the media that the team reached out to Tesla Inc. in search of collaboration. After seeing their inspiring portfolio, Tesla decided to become the teams innovative partner.
The partnership will help FERN to get technical support, technology sharing, and necessary components for electric vehicle (EV) development from the global pioneer in the EV arena.
After achieving the milestone, FERN became the first and only educational institute to work with one of the worlds biggest names in the global car industry.
Talking to the media, another team member said that, on a global stage, FERNs competitor shows up with sponsorships from automotive giants like Volkswagen, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche, and other major players.
Words cannot express the sense of elation and gratitude that we have for scoring an affiliation with a name such as Tesla, he said.
FERN remained a dominant force in the annual Formula Student competitions along with several other competitions. The team has a consistent track record of bagging a stage finish in every international competition that they enter.
Moreover, their ongoing project car utilizes a 5 kWh battery that is good for a range of 22 km. It has the highest speed of 120 kph and can go from a standstill to 100 kph in just 4.5 seconds, this makes it a quicker accelerating vehicle than most cars on Pakistani roads.
Sources reported that currently, the team is working on developing various in-house components that it plans to incorporate into the upcoming iterations of the vehicle. FERNs devotion and consistent hard work continue to be a sense of pride for the nation.
