Saudi Crown Prince Ordered Release Of Pakistani Pilgrims Involved In Masjid-I-Nabwi Incident

Pakistani pilgrims who had been detained and arrested for chanting anti-government slogans and approaching a delegation led by the prime minister at Masjid-iNabwi in Madina in April was ordered by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman to be released, according to an announcement made by the prime minister on Wednesday. 


PM Shehbaz commended the crown prince in a tweet for ordering the release as he was wrapping up a two-day visit to the Saudi capital Riyadh. 


“I am incredibly thankful to Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, Mr. Muhammad bin Salman, who, at my request, approved the release of the Pakistanis detained in Saudi Arabia for the incident in April 2022. 


We beseech Allah Almighty to transform us into more forgiving Muslims, he continued. 


PM Shehbaz traveled to Saudi Arabia for three days in April with a delegation that included federal ministers and others. Some Pakistani pilgrims had pursued them, chanted comments at them, and even harrassed a few members of the party during their visit to Masjid-iNabwi during the visit. 

Social media videos of the incident went viral, causing Saudi officials to act quickly and the arrest of several of the pilgrims. 

PMs Agree To Take Fraternal Bonds To ‘New Heights’ 

Crown Prince Salman, who took office as the kingdom’s prime minister last month, and PM Shehbaz earlier agreed to raise and strengthen bilateral ties and fraternal ties between the two countries to “new heights.” 

In a bilateral meeting conducted in Riyadh, the two discussed all aspects of their bilateral ties. 

PM Shehbaz praised the meeting on Twitter, writing that it was “excellent.” 

“We decided to raise and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s and Pakistan’s bilateral ties and brotherly ties to new heights in keeping with the?demands of the?changing world. The two leaders also reaffirmed their dedication to further fortifying the ties of brotherhood between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. 

According to the report, the prime minister thanked the Saudi leadership for helping Pakistan during the recent terrible floods, especially for constructing the air bridge between Riyadh and Islamabad to deliver aid to flood-affected areas. 

According to the report, the Saudi crown prince described the brotherly connections between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan as being crucial for the two nations as well as for the region and the entire world.
