Pm Shehbaz Lays Foundation Stone Of National Monument Bab-E-Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif laid the groundwork for two projects in Lahore: The Bab-e-Pakistan project, which has been in the works for over a decade, and an upgrade to Walton Road. 


According to the sources, Bab-e-Pakistan, which will become a national monument, is built on the site of one of Pakistan’s largest Muslim refugee camps after the country’s independence. 


It is to be mentioned that the late governor Ghulam Jilani Khan proposed the memorial in 1985, and it was designed by architect Amjad Mukhtar, a graduate of the National College of Arts in Lahore.

The premier expressed strong interest in the project, and when he was chief minister of Punjab in 2009. He expressed displeasure with the delay and stressed the importance of using local materials and promoting an austerity culture. 


PM Shehbaz also emphasized that it was a national responsibility to educate the youngsters about the Pakistan Movement and the reasons for the country’s founding. 


Moreover, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, Chief Minister of Punjab,?launched several infrastructure projects in Lahore, including the Saggian Road, Sharaqpur Road, and Shahdara multi-level flyover projects. 


The administration highlighted that these projects were designed to improve the lifestyles of the general public and mentioned a number of other notable initiatives taking place in the province. 


During his administration, Lahore also received free solar pumps, and plans were proposed?to run a Blue Line subway train from Data Sahib to the Lahore airport. 


Besides, Pervez Elahi underlined the practical advantages of the Saggian and Sharaqpur Road projects, in addition to the multi-level overpass at Shahdara, and announced that the government had initiated 20-billion-rupee development projects in Lahore. 


The Saggian and Sharaqpur road projects cost 4.51 billion rupees, whereas the Shahdara multi-level flyover project was expected to cost 8.90 billion rupees and take 10 months to build on a 27-kanal plot of land.
