Planning Minister Directs To Accelerate Work On Cpec Projects In Gwadar

Caretaker Minister for Planning Development & Special Initiatives, Muhammad Sami Saeed, took charge of overseeing the progress of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Gwadar during a recent meeting.  

He emphasized the need to accelerate the work on these projects and ensure their timely completion.


Representatives from various ministries and divisions provided detailed briefings on the status of their respective projects in Gwadar. 


The planning minister expressed the interim government’s commitment to implementing CPEC projects and highlighted the importance of expediting the work. He noted that the recent budget has doubled the allocation for Balochistan, demonstrating the federal government’s dedication to the province’s development.


Several projects related to education, healthcare, and social sectors have already been completed in Balochistan to benefit its residents, and the government intends to continue its efforts to uplift the province. 


The meeting also addressed security concerns related to Chinese workers in Pakistan. Officials from the Interior Ministry presented a comprehensive briefing on the security measures in place for Chinese personnel. The minister stressed the importance of enhancing security further to prevent any untoward incidents. 


Key participants in the meeting included the Secretary of the Planning Ministry, the Secretary of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, the Chief Economist, the Chairman of Gwadar Port Authority, the Director General of Gwadar Development Authority, and representatives from various ministries.


The collaborative effort aims to ensure the successful implementation of CPEC projects in Gwadar and enhance security measures to safeguard the interests of Chinese workers involved in these initiatives. 


The meeting chaired by Caretaker Minister Muhammad Sami Saeed signifies the government’s unwavering commitment to advancing the strategic CPEC projects in Gwadar, a crucial hub for economic development and trade connectivity. 


By prioritizing the timely completion of these initiatives and bolstering security measures for Chinese workers, the government aims to facilitate a conducive environment for foreign investments and partnerships while fostering socio-economic progress in the region.?
