From August 1, Pakistan Post’s domestic mail rates have been raised by 50% and 150%. A notice from the Ministry of Communication states that the prices for ordinary letters, envelops, and aerogrammes that are not registered have increased from Rs20 to Rs30 for 20 grammes to Rs38 to Rs60 for 50 grammes, Rs50 to Rs75 for 100 grammes to Rs75 to Rs120 for 250 grammes to Rs100 to Rs150 for 500 grammes to Rs200 to Rs300 per kilogramme and Rs250 to Rs380 for 2 kilogrammes.
The prices for items other than textbooks, such as pamphlets, magazines, periodicals, sheets of music, maps, printed circulars, invitations, bills, and greeting cards, would rise from Rs2 to Rs5 per 100g. Additionally, parcel rates have gone up as follows: 1 kilogramme went up from Rs. 100 to Rs. 150, 3 kg from Rs. 175 to Rs. 270, and 5 kg from Rs. 250 to Rs. 380. 10kg costs Rs.375–Rs.570, 15kg Rs.500–Rs.750, 20kg Rs.625–Rs.940, 25kg Rs.750–Rs.1,130, and 30kg Rs.875–Rs.1,320.
Textbooks and other printed goods now have higher fees for deliveries and printing. Rates for urgent postal services have also gone up.
The costs would increase from Rs59 to Rs90 for deliveries made inside cities or between Rawalpindi and Islamabad, including all taxes and fees. The price will be Rs110 for 500g and Rs45 more for each extra half kilogramme.
Up to 250g would cost Rs230 for shipping between other cities, and each extra half kilogramme will cost Rs75. Within the city, there will be a fee of Rs55 for the first 250g, Rs80 for the next 500g, and Rs18 for each additional half kilogramme.
Outside of the city, the cost for cash-on-delivery is Rs87 for up to 250g, Rs122 for 500g, and Rs35 for each additional 500g ordered.
