Pakistan And The Uae Decided To Increase Their Bilateral It Cooperation

With a focus on artificial intelligence and the digital economy, Pakistan and the UAE have decided to collaborate in the information technology sector.

At a meeting on the fringes of GITEX Global, Omar Bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister for Artificial Intelligence and the Digital Economy, and Caretaker IT Minister Dr. Umar Saif decided to expand bilateral collaboration in IT, AI, and the digital economy.

Dr. Umar Saif had earlier performed the official opening of the Pakistan Pavilion at GITEX Global 2023.

At the Pakistan Pavilion, Dr. Umar Saif, the minister of information technology, also gave a speech to the local businesses and startups.

“Wonderful to meet with H.E. Omar bin Sultan Al Olama Minister of AI and Digitial Economy, United Arab Emirates,” stated Minister for IT and Telecom Dr. Umar Saif.

He expressed a strong willingness to collaborate on AI, the digital economy, and venture capital investments in Pakistan and suggested formalising an agreement (MOU) for the Government Excellence Excellence Programme (GEEP).

According to the MoITT, interim Federal Minister of Information Technology Dr. Umar Saif claimed that Pakistan is a big country with a population of 241 million people, 65% of whom are intelligent people under the age of 30 while addressing at the event and to international media.

He said that the capabilities and location of our IT people could benefit the entire world better.

The minister declared, “We have a great IT industry that can outsource their projects, and there is a great investment opportunity for venture capitals in sectors like Digital Banking, Fintech, AgriTech, and Telecom infrastructure.”

Former Chairman P@SHA Syed Ahmed said during his address that “A large number of visitors visited the Pavilion on the first day of the event, including the PSEB Pavilion, Ignite Pavilion, Startup Pavilion, and Fintech Pavilion.”

More than 2,000 people came to this international event, he continued. He claims that more than 90 Pakistani businesses are taking part in the event, and more than 100 training sessions and workshops have been organised specifically for C-level executives.
