Syed Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, made this statement while speaking with a Lin Songtian-led Chinese delegation that visited him on Friday in Karachi. 


Sindh CM said that?the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has further solidified the two countries’ already close ties of friendship and cooperation. 


According to the Chief Minister, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto created the groundwork for friendship with China, and this mutually beneficial partnership will continue to grow with each passing day. 


In another development, With the combined financial support of the ADB Bank and AIIB Bank, the Balakot Hydropower Project, the largest hydropower project in the province, will begin this year near Mansehra with a 300MW energy generation capacity. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 


At the Balakot site, Chief Executive PEDO Engn Naeem Khan called a meeting with the project team members from the Turkish consultancy firm Dolsar and the Chinese construction business Gazoba. 


The meeting was?also attended by the project director, deputy commissioner Mansehra, and other accountable officials. 


Moreover, it was noted with satisfaction that the project’s land acquisition process was moving forward and that the project’s detailed design work had been finished on schedule. The project’s practical work will now begin. 


Several important decisions were made in this regard, including prioritizing the safety of foreign engineering teams from Turkish and Chinese companies working on the project. 


CEO Engn Naeem Khan stated that this project, which will cost $755 million and be finished in the next seven years, is a flagship project of the current provincial government. Of this sum, 80%, or $580 million, will be provided by the ADB AIIB jointly, with the remaining sum coming from the provincial government.
