Mega Cpec Project To Connect K-P With Balochistan Through 210-Km Long Road Approved

Asad Mahmood, Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Communications, announced the approval of a billion-rupee project to connect Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan via the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). 

He announced this during a meeting with the local leadership of Jamiat Ulema Islam Fazl (JUI-F). 


The minister stated that the 210-kilometre-long road project will connect Yarik to Saggu and subsequently Saggu to Zhob and that it would be completed with the participation of the governments of Pakistan and China. 


He stated that the secretary for communication was in China for final approval of Chinese things. Asad insisted that the completion of this infrastructure would facilitate travel between KPK and Balochistan. 


He stated that this route would pass through parts of both provinces that had previously been neglected and that it would also secure economic growth in the districts. 

In another development, Balochistan’s provincial government has implemented “fishermen community policing” throughout the province’s territorial seas in order to secure the future of fishermen. 


According to an official release, the initiative will supply fishermen with basic IT equipment to “perform watch and ward functions” in the seawaters. Chief Minister Balochistan has approved the Fisheries Department’s conceptual idea. 


The slogan of the scheme is “Fishermen; the protectors of oceans” and it shall be obligatory throughout the 12nm (nautical mile) of provincial waters. The official statement said that the initiative has been launc
