The Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), formerly known as the Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab), has implemented the Blue Road idea in Lahore.
Officials stated that the plan intended to upgrade the City’s infrastructure and improve citizens’ quality of life. CBD Punjab developed the?Blue Road concept to Lahore, making it the first city in Pakistan and Asia to do so.
Moreover, Blue Roads were created to be a sustainable alternative to standard asphalt roads, with heat detection and energy-saving technologies to decrease pollution and encourage a healthier environment.
These cutting-edge roadways have a unique coating that reflects sunlight, lowering the amount of heat absorbed by the road surface. In addition, the reflective coating enhances visibility for drivers at night, thereby increasing road safety.
CBD officials stated that the building work was being personally supervised?by Imran Amin, CEO of CBD Punjab, to guarantee that the schedule set by interim Chief Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi during his last visit was met.
In this regard, Imran Amin who is the CEO of CBD Punjab, stated his thoughts, We are excited to introduce the Blue Road concept in Pakistan, which has already been implemented successfully in several European and Middle Eastern countries like Netherlands, France and Qatar.
This project will not only bring environmental benefits, such as heat observation, energy conservation, and reduced pollution, but also contribute to our vision of creating a modern, sustainable, and inclusive society in Punjab.
It is to be mentioned that CBD Punjab is dedicated to delivering projects that improve the quality of life for its citizens. The implementation of the “Blue Road” concept is one of several projects undertaken by the authority to modernise the city’s infrastructure while enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
The project also incorporates the 4.2 billion PKR CBD Punjab Boulevard and subway, which is nearing completion. CBD CEO also mentioned that the groundbreaking ceremony for the Bab-e-Pakistan and Walton Road improvements had taken place.
